Kidney Treatment
Human kidneys are bean shaped organ of urinary system plays several essential roles in the body; their main function is to regulate electrolytes balance in the blood, removal of excess wastes from the blood, and regulation of blood pressure via salts & water balance. Also helps in homeostatic functions such as regulation of salts, maintenance of acid- base balance & fluid balance in the body etc. These renal functions & filtration process are measured by very complex process known as glomerular flirtation rate (GFR), if it’s once get disturbed causes several chronic , critical as well fatal diseases which if not treated frequently needs dialysis & may requires kidney transplantation as last management option.
These diseases are:
- Polycystic kidney disease
- Renal agenesis
- Renal dysplasia
- Unilateral small kidney
- Multicystic dysplastic kidney
- Horseshoe kidney
- Nutcracker syndrome etc. are congenital or due to genetic disorders.
Other commonly acquired conditions are:
- Diabetic nephropathy – due to uncontrolled diabetes kidneys get affected
- Glomerulonephritis – inflammation to the glomeruli or blood vessels in kidneys
- Hydronephrosis – due to obstruction of urinary flow.
- Kidney stones – very common condition causes obstruction to pathways & mostly painful
- Nephrotic syndrome –Damage to the glomerulus tends to enter large amount of proteins in the urine through blood filtration, with low serum albumin & high cholesterol including swelling.
- Pyelonephritis – pus accumulation due to frequent infections of kidneys
- UTI – frequent Infections at urinary tract.
- Lupus nephritis – inflammation to the kidneys due to autoimmune condition SLE
- ARF – acute renal failure due to sudden loss of kidney functions.
- CRF – also known as chronic kidney disease due to progressive loss of renal functioning over a period of months or years. This chronic renal impairment rapidly growing now a days & it’s the leading cause among the all deaths of kidney diseases.
- Renal artery stenosis – due to narrowing of renal arteries.
- Reno vascular hypertension –leading cause of high blood pressure.
- Renal Cancer – due to types of CA, wilms tumour & renal cell carcinoma.
Ayurvedic View:
In ayurveda different renal diseases are explained precisely with their effective treatments. Like ‘Mutraashmari’, ‘Muthrakruchha’, ‘Vrukkashosh’, & ‘Vrukka shoth’ etc. According to ayurveda, different “dosha-dooshya samurchhana” acts behind the particular diseases but superficially this conditions are consider due to ‘vata-kapha’ doshas & ‘ rakta-medaj’ dhatus predominance mainly.
Treatment:
- Diagnosing the actual pathology behind renal failure & renal impairment, and first managing them like if it’s due to DM, HTN & any another diseases or treatment.
- Implementation of ‘ART’ to rejuvenate damaged kidneys & repairs its parenchymal cells, hormones, blood vessels, & glomerulus which get affected.
- Detoxification of toxins from blood & kidneys to improve its functions
- Balancing of renal impairments like blood urea level & serum creatinine etc, in such extent to maintain proper renal functioning.
- Healthy diet & life style advice.
